Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, or DofE, is the world's leading youth achievement award, giving young people between the ages of 14 and 25 the most incredible opportunity to take part in a wonderfully diverse range of exciting activities. These all count towards an Award which is highly prized by colleges, universities and employers!

If you choose to take part, you really will discover that there's more to life than sitting on the sofa watching T.V, texting your mates and browsing the Internet!

You achieve your Bronze and Silver Awards by taking part and completing a flexible, personalised programme of activities across four sections – Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. If you go for your Gold Award, there's an additional Residential section.

The JLGB has, since the DofE was started in 1956, been the exclusive Jewish Licenced Organisation. We have an exceptional track record of providing training and assessments that meet the religious and cultural needs of over 800 Jewish young people each year.

The Award is getting more and more popular and due in part to our awareness campaigns, more young people from ultra-orthodox Jewish communities are participating, particularly those who require single-gender, Kashrut and Shomer Shabbat provision.

The JLGB is committed to making sure anyone who wants to take part can do so and, in addition to religious sensitivities, we also offer tremendous support to those young people with physical or learning disabilities who want to be a part of all that the DofE has to offer.

Please call our DofE Team on 0208 530 8220 or email dofe@jlgb.org if you have any qualms, queries or questions!
