NCS

The National Citizen Service (NCS) is a three week part residential programme for young people in the summer after their GCSEs. JLGB runs a faith sensitive version of this national scheme for those of all faiths and those of none.

The three weeks are as follows:

Week One: A residential week with the focus on adventure activities. In teams of around 12, participants will have the opportunity to take part in rock climbing, abseiling, archery, swimming and more...

Week Two: A residential week with the focus on learning a particular skill selected by the group such as cookery, graphic design or fitness. Participants will start to plan a social action project that they will carry out during the following week.

Week Three: Social action project. Participants will spend 30 hours volunteering in the local community by carrying out a project they designed themselves.
